The motor vehicle has a retractable roof provided with a rear element (2) displaceable between a closed position and an open position in which the element is placed in a front block (8) of a case. The element comprises a front transparent part (2a) connected to a rear transparent part (2b), so that the front transparent part forms a windscreen of the motor vehicle and the rear transparent part forms a front part of the roof of the motor vehicle in the closed position. The element is displaceable towards the open position in which the front transparent part is placed in the block of the case.
