The turbine has a measuring system measuring a signal representing electric frequency of an electric network. The signal is sent to a regulation module (7) for sending information to a control module (11) that controls a direct current-alternating current converter (501) for regulating charge and/or discharge of an energy storage device (6). The charge and/or the discharge are determined based on the signal representing difference between minimum electric frequency stored in a memory contained in the regulation module and the signal representing the measured frequency. The direct current-alternating current converter is selected from one of a rectifier or an inverter. An independent claim is also included for a method for supporting an electric network supplied with power by a wind turbine.
