The device (1) has a base plate (10) maintained on a robotized gripping unit e.g. plate. A hollow ring (13) is slidably mounted inside a hollow body (11) between an upper position and a lower position. The ring and the body are dimensioned such that an extrusion tube (2) is introduced inside the body and the ring to leave the ring from its upper position when the tube is centered, and the tube is introduced inside the body and supported against the ring to slidably drive the ring until the lower position of the ring when the tube is offset. An independent claim is also included for a method for centering an extrusion tube for a removing apparatus utilized for removing a material cord from a support.
