Geophysical data processing system comprising a gradiometer and gravimeter fixed relative to each other

The invention relates to a system for processing geophysical data from a potential field survey of a surveyed region of the earth to provide a representation of the geology of said surveyed region. The system comprises a gradiometer 52 and a gravimeter 50 mounted on a common stabilised platform whereby the gradiometer and the gravimeter are fixed relative to each other. The platform may form part of a first 64, second 68 and third 70 gimbal assembly whereby the gradiometer and gravimeter are stabilised with respect to three orthogonal axes. The system may also comprise a data acquisition module for acquiring data from the gradiometer and gravimeter and a GPS instrument for simultaneously obtaining the time and locating for the data acquired from the gradiometer and the gravimeter.
