Passive polarised 3D stereoscopic projection system with rotatable coloured polarising drum

3D stereoscopic projection system comprising a polarisation preserving screen, a light source. 1 disposed within open cylinder drum 3 rotatable about its axis and including windows 4 for light source illumination to pass through as cylinder rotates. The windows 4 comprise coloured glass polarised in one of two directions to produce image on the screen capable of stereoscopic viewing using 3D glasses. The projector may be mounted in a common frame with the screen and located either above or below the screen. Audio speakers and electronics may be housed within the frame. The projector may be an ultra short throw UST projector consisting of a series of DMD mirror elements. Cooling means may drive coolant air through cylinder drum 3. The system allows for a compact, lightweight and low cost passively polarised 3D home cinema system utilising short throw projection and a hexagonal polarised drum to project images for 3D viewing.
