Controlling user input in a computers system (e.g. an interactive learning system)

A method for controlling user input in a computer system (e.g an interactive learning system) that includes a display (e.g. an interactive white board). The computer system is adapted to receive inputs from a plurality of user input devices (e.g. graphic tablets) under the control of a system input device (e.g a mouse or pointer that may select the input device from a displayed list of devices). The method includes: a. detecting selection by the system input device of a modifiable displayed item; b. receiving modification data from at least one of the plurality of user input devices; and c. modifying the modifiable displayed item with the received modification data.
