The present invention relates to a tumour measuring device 10, comprising a measurer 11, keyboard 12, processor and a display 13. The measurer 11 measures at least one dimension of a tumour at a first time (t1) and at least one dimension of a tumour at a second time (t2). These dimensions are inputted via the keyboard 12. The keyboard 12 is linked to a processor, and the rate of growth or contraction of the tumour is displayed on the display 13. The rate of growth or contraction is based on the dimension input at the first time (t1), the dimension input at the second time (t2), and the time between the first time (t1) and the second time (t2). Preferably, the rate of growth or contraction of the tumour is the tumour doubling time or complete response time. The at least one dimension is preferably the diameter of the tumour and the volume of the tumour can also be inputted into the device 10.
