METHOD FOR MONITORING SEAL OF ROTARY VANE TYPE STEERING GEAR AND ROTARY VANE TYPE STEERING GEAR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method allowing external recognition of a portion of a seal which may cause an operation failure of an actuator or which is contributing to the operation failure, and the cause thereof.;SOLUTION: In a rotary vane type steering gear including an actuator 1 having seals 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 arranged respectively at a plurality of potions in the inside; and a hydraulic device for supplying hydraulic fluid to the actuator 1 and returning hydraulic fluid discharged from the actuator 1 to an oil tank through a return filter, a different identification color is assigned to the arrangement portion of each seal, and particles resulting from seal wear or crushed pieces resulting from seal breakage are captured by the return filter. The generation source of the particles or crushed pieces is identified by the identification color of the captured particles or crushed pieces, and thereby the portion of the seal which contributes to the operation failure of the actuator 1 is externally recognized.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
