Prototype testing has confirmed the potential of a new steering gear design from Rolls-Royce,the spherical vane (SV) type,which promises a range of manufacturing and operational advantages compared with conventional ram type steering gear.This development builds on the successful Rolls-Royce steering gear range in the Tenfjord SR and Frydenbo RV series.
