PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical apparatus having a power supply unit configured to be connected to an electric medical apparatus connected to a patient's body.SOLUTION: In one embodiment, the apparatus includes an alternating current (AC) line including an earth line. A switch is connected so that the AC line is connected to and disconnected from an AC power supply. A current sensor is connected so that the current flowing in the earth line is detected and the AC line is disconnected by the actuation of the switch when the current exceeds a predetermined threshold. In another embodiment, a plurality of electrocardiograms (ECG) including a common lead line are connected to the patient's body. An auxiliary current sensor is connected so that the current flowing through the common lead line is monitored and a power connection part is disconnected by the actuation of the switch when the current exceeds a limit value.
