PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress offset of a diffraction efficiency of a diffraction grating formed inside an electro-optic crystal by eliminating residue of charge to the electro-optic crystal and provide an appropriate optical modulation by the diffraction grating.;SOLUTION: An amplitude modulation signal formed by modulating amplitude of a current signal by a data signal is applied to the electro-optic crystal. Thereby, the signal oscillating in both the positive and negative sides is applied to the electro-optic crystal so as to eliminate the residue of the charge to the electro-optic crystal. Consequently, this constitution can suppress the offset of the diffraction efficiency of the diffraction grating formed inside the electro-optic crystal so as to provide the appropriate optical modulation by the diffraction grating.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
