PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable bending fatigue life prediction method and a device for the same, capable of easily predicting the bending fatigue life of a cable even if a bending condition is changed.;SOLUTION: A cable bending fatigue life prediction method includes the following steps of: creating an SN chart and a fatigue limit chart at the time of simple bending in advance; obtaining a minimum stress σmin loaded on a cable from a maximum radius of curvature R1 at the time of bending of the cable of which life is to be predicted, and obtaining an average stress σm1 which is an average stress σm0 corresponding to a fatigue limit σw0 at the time of simple bending added with the minimum stress σmin by using the fatigue limit chart; obtaining a fatigue limit reduction rate α from the ratio of a fatigue limit σw1 corresponding to the obtained average stress σm1 to the fatigue limit σw0 at the time of simple bending; obtaining an SN chart when the maximum radius of curvature is R1 by multiplying the SN chart at the time of simple bending by the obtained fatigue limit reduction rate α; and predicting the bending fatigue life of the cable by using the obtained SN chart.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
