PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an immersion nozzle for continuous casting, which has a structure to prevent the breakage of straightening plates and a nozzle body of the immersion nozzle.;SOLUTION: When the expansion coefficient of the nozzle body is M_1α[×10^-6/°C], the elasticity of the nozzle body is M_1E[MPa], the thickness of the tube wall of the nozzle body is T_nzl[mm], the elasticity of the straightening plates is M_2E[MPa], the bending strength of the nozzle body is σ_b[MPa], and the maximum value of the index of a stress strength ratio not to cause the breakage of the nozzle body is S_est/σ_b, the length distance L_span[mm]in the nozzle axis direction between the fixed parts of each of partial plates is in the range specified by the following formula (1a): 0L_span≤{-b-(b²-4ac)^1/2}/2a, wherein a=c₁₈/σ_b, and c₁₈=-4.83886×10^-5.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
