PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for specifying an area including a code area without identifying code content.;SOLUTION: A method for specifying an area including a code area comprises: an imaging step of imaging an imaging target object including a code area 10a having a code expressing a data cell with two colors, a color of high brightness and a color of brightness lower than that of the color of high brightness; a first retrieval step of specifying, in an image obtained in the imaging step, a shape of a high brightness area 10b provided around the code area 10a and composed of the color of brightness higher than that of the color of low brightness; a second retrieval step of specifying a shape of the code area; and a specification step of specifying the code area 10a or an area including the code area 10a and the high brightness area 10b on the basis of any of information on the shape of the high brightness area 10b specified in the first retrieval step and information on the shape of the code area 10a specified in the second retrieval step.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
