PHASE CHANGE INK COMPOSITION, AND COLORANT USED IN PHASE CHANGE INK COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phase change ink composition that contains a novel colorant wax for preventing and/or reducing blots on a printhead and a nozzle caused by dripping and stains on a face plate.;SOLUTION: The phase change ink composition contains a colorant and wax-ink media, wherein the colorant is a compound containing one or more acid functional groups, and an N-alkyl counter ion or N-aryl counter ion that is quaternary ammonium NH4 or alkyl quaternary ammonium or an aryl quaternary ammonium selected from the group consisting of tetra butylammonium, tetra octylammonium, tetrad decyl ammonium, tetra octadecyl ammonium, N,N-dimethyl dioctadecyl, N,N-dimethyl dioctyl, N,N-dimethyl didecyl, and a mixture thereof. The colorant is insoluble in water and a polar organic solvent but soluble in the wax ink media.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
