Of the film before forming, new ways of high shear and ultrasound to the NCC suspension by (mechanical) energy input, to control the rainbow-colored solid nano-crystalline cellulose (NCC) film is provided. Energy input to the NCC suspension increases, the color of the film was produced is shifted towards the infrared region from the ultraviolet region of the electromagnetic spectrum. This wavelength shift is in the opposite direction to the shift caused by adding an electrolyte to the NCC suspension before forming the film. It does not require an additive to achieve the color change. The color change can also be achieved by mixing the two suspensions were exposed to ultrasonic treatment with different sonication level.
