PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a squirrel-cage rotor for an induction motor that has a configuration that eliminates the need for a process of arranging brazing filler and facilitates bonding of bars and an end ring so as to reduce man-hours in the bonding by brazing, and to provide a method for manufacturing the squirrel-cage rotor.;SOLUTION: Prior to a process in which a rotor core 10 is assembled, a silver plated layer 24 is formed on at least either of an end ring 14 and conductor bars 20. The rotor 10 is heated to a temperature that is equal to or higher than a melting point of the silver plated layer 24 so as to melt the silver plated layer 24. The melted silver plating serves as brazing filler and bonds the end ring 14 and the conductor bars 20 together.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
