PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical seal that can secure contact pressure between the slide seal surface of a rotating ring and a slide seal surface of a fixed ring which constitute the mechanical seal without using a spring, does form dead spaces at a seal between the rotating ring and a rotating shaft and a seal between the fixed ring and a frame, and can surely avoid liquid leakage even if the rotating shaft is twisted in a direction perpendicular to a rotating axial line direction, and a uniaxial eccentric screw pump.;SOLUTION: A rotating-ring side elastic material 23 using an elastomer as a material is arranged between the rotating ring 21 constituting the mechanical seal 20 and the rotating shaft 3b. and a fixed-ring side elastic material 24 using an elastomer as a material is arranged between the fixed ring 22 and the frame 11. The contact pressure between the slide seal surface 21a of the rotating ring 21 and the slide seal surface 22a of the fixed ring 22 is secured by an elastic force between the rotating-ring side elastic material 23 and the fixed-ring side elastic material 24, a clearance between the rotating ring 21 and the rotating shaft 3b is sealed by the rotating-ring side elastic material 23, and a clearance between the fixed ring 22 and the frame 11 is sealed by the fixed-ring side elastic material 24.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
