PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a performance evaluation method of a coating on a structural member surface, which accurately evaluates performance of the coating applied to the structural member surface without influence from impurities contained in water.;SOLUTION: A thin wire with a radius of 500 μm made of the same kind of steel as the object member to be surface-coated is provided with the same surface coating, and is arranged adjacent to the surface coating object portion. The resistance of the thin wire is measured, so as to determine the corrosion rate of the thin wire. The timing for reconstructing the surface coating can be comprehended during a plant operation period. Extension of a periodical plant inspection period due to preparation of the surface coating can be thus prevented.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
