METHOD OF DESIGNING COMPOSITION OF CERAMIC MOLDING MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of designing a composition of a ceramic molding material that allows easily determining the best composition of the ceramic molding material according to changes in the specific gravity of a ceramic molding.SOLUTION: A plurality of kinds of sample materials of different compositions are prepared. Moldability when each of the sample materials is extruded to obtain a sample molding, the shape retaining property of the sample molding, and the specific gravity of the sample molding obtained by curing and setting the sample molding are investigated. Information in which the composition of each sample material is associated with the investigation results is created. The specific gravity of the ceramic molding is determined, and compositions associated with the investigation result with the same value of specific gravity as the specific gravity are extracted from the information. The investigation results of the moldability and the shape retaining property associated with the compositions extracted are consulted, and of the compositions extracted, the composition associated with the investigation results of moldability and shape retaining property at or above a certain level is determined as the composition of the ceramic molding material.
