PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copper-based alloy which has industrially sufficient machinability and is excellent in forgeability and stress corrosion cracking-resistance.;SOLUTION: The copper-based alloy contains, by mass%, Cu: 59.0-61.0 (61.0 exclusive)%, Bi: 0.5-1.5%, Sn: 1.5-2.5%, Fe: 0.06-0.2%, Sb: 0.02-0.06%, and P: 0.04-0.15%.
