PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a titanium oxide photocatalyst coated with a porous silica film, which has molecular selectivity attributable to pores provided onto the silica film.;SOLUTION: The method for producing the titanium oxide photocatalyst coated with the porous silica film includes: treating the surface of titanium oxide particles with a compound having a polar group; thereafter coating with a silane compound; and then removing the compound having the polar group to form pores. An organic molecule represented by R-X is preferable as the compound having the polar group where R is an organic group, and a functional group X is such a functional group directly bonded to R by a single bond that is any of a carboxyl group, a hydroxyl group, or an amino group.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
