PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for knitting a knitted fabric on which a pattern based on a difference in appearance between a first knitting yarn and a second knitting yarn is formed by using a flat knitting machine; and the knitted fabric having a part knitted by applying the method.SOLUTION: A method for knitting a knitted fabric on which a pattern based on a difference in appearance between a first knitting yarn and a second knitting yarn is formed, comprises repeating the following steps A to C: knitting a base stitch row 10 by using the first knitting yarn (step A); selecting one or more target stitches 1 from the base stitch row 10 knitted in the step A, and forming increased stitches 2 by using the second knitting yarn different in kind from the first knitting yarn (step B); and overlapping the target stitches 1 selected in the step B with the increased stitches 2 formed with respect to the target stitches 1 (step C).
