PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode system that is maintained in durability performance. PSOLUTION: The electrode system is consists of a first conductive base material and an organic mediator fixed to the first base material, where the mediator acts as a reducing agent at a potential lower than a reduction potential at which hydroxy radical acts as an oxidant, and also the mediator acts as an oxidant at an oxidation potential at which hydrogen peroxide acts as a reducing agent.
