PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for and method of correcting the positional deviation of an edge strip of a permanent cathode by which the positional deviation of the edge strip of the permanent cathode is automatically and quickly corrected without being helped by workers in a series of the recovery process of an electrodeposited metal in electrolytic refining. PSOLUTION: The correcting apparatus is constituted so as to be provided with pushing plates 21, 23 arranged in the vicinity of both ends side of the permanent cathode 1 transported while being suspended to correct the edge strips 5 fitted into both ends side of the permanent cathode 1 to a proper position by pushing the edge strips 5 from both ends side at the same time and driving apparatuses 13, 15 for synchronously advancing and moving back the pushing plates 21, 24 arranged to push the edge strips 5 at both sides.
