PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for detecting fundamental period of voice capable of exactly detecting a fundamental period of voice data which is compressed and decompressed by speech codec and has an emphasized higher harmonic component and, thereby, avoiding noise production on the speech rate conversion. PSOLUTION: The device for detecting fundamental period of voice comprises: a filter which receives voice data, removes the higher harmonic component from the voice data and outputs the voice data freed from the higher harmonic component; and a fundamental period detection part which performs phase shifting for the output data of the filter while changing phase shift amount, calculates a correlation value between the output data before the phase shifting and the output data after the phase shifting and detects a time length corresponding to the phase shift amount when the correlation value becomes a peak as the fundamental period of voice expressed by the voice data.
