PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst composition, in which the aspect and performance or the like are easily controlled, and the acquisition and preparation are facilitated, concerning a catalyst which is used for decomposing ethylene by a catalytic combustion reaction, and to provide a new method for decomposing ethylene by using the catalyst composition.;SOLUTION: The catalyst composition is obtained by firing a mixture of an oxide particle and the noble metal compound or noble metal complex in an oxidized state. The catalyst composition includes the oxide particle and a noble metal particle or a noble metal compound particle, which is supported on the oxide particle. Ethylene can be decomposed, in a low-temperature dark place, by forcing the catalyst composition for the catalytic combustion reaction of ethylene to coexist with the ethylene to be decomposed and oxygen.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
