PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a borosilicate glass-containing glass composition for flow passage formation which, even when ribs are formed on opposite surfaces of quartz glass substrates by printing with a glass paste, can form a fine flow passage comprising the glass composition for flow passage formation and having a height of 50-500 μm without collapsing the ribs by melting in firing, can tightly join the quartz glass substrates, generates no crack and has a small linear thermal expansion coefficient.;SOLUTION: The glass composition for flow passage formation contains a glass frit of borosilicate glass and β-spodumene, cordierite, fused silica, aluminum oxide or zirconium oxide. The glass frit of borosilicate glass contains B2O3, SiO2, ZnO, alkali metal oxides and alkaline earth metal oxides as essential components, and a content of these components is in the range of 68-84 wt.% with respect to the total weight of the glass composition for flow passage formation. A content of the β-spodumene, cordierite, fused silica, aluminum oxide or zirconium oxide is in the range of 4-22 wt.% with respect to the above total weight.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
