PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a MgBsuperconducting multi-core wire rod which makes it possible to materialize a multi-core wire rod which has had the nonuniformity in the shape and dimensions of each filament restrained, even when the single-core wire rod built into a MgBsuperconducting multi-core wire rod is manufactured by a PIT method, and to provide a MgBsuperconducting multi-core wire rod manufactured by this method.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a MgBsuperconducting multi-core wire rod according to the present invention includes a single-core wire rod manufacturing step for preparing a single-core wire rod having a filament diameter of 1.01 times to 1.2 times, both ends incl., that of the desired final filament; a stranded wire step for forming a composite wire rod which has a plurality of the single-core wire rods stranded in a desired arrangement; a stabilization material sheathing step for forming a sheathed wire rod by covering the periphery of the composite wire rod with aluminum, aluminum alloy, copper or copper alloy as stabilization materials by conform extrusion, and a pressurization and heat treatment step for burning the sheathed wire rod under pressure to a temperature of 600°C or higher, whereby at least the stabilization material is impregnated.
