PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for dehydrating a hydrofluorocarbon or a hydrochlorofluorocarbon capable of using a simple device, and a method for continuously producing 1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene by using the same method of dehydration.SOLUTION: This method for dehydrating the hydrofluorocarbon or hydrochlorofluorocarbon is provided by comprising a process of cooling a gas state hydrofluorocarbon or hydrochlorofluorocarbon at least containing water by a heat exchanger for condensing to liquefy the gas and freezing to solidify the water. For example, the method for producing the 1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene is provided by comprising a first process of obtaining a mixture containing the 1.3.3.3-tetrafluoropropene, un-reacted raw material, hydrogen fluoride, hydrogen chloride and byproducts by fluorinating 1-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene, or the other first process of obtaining a mixture containing the 1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene, un-reacted raw material and byproducts by dehydrofluorinating 1,1,1,3,3 pentafluoropropane, a second process of removing acidic components, a third process of dehydrating by the above dehydration method, and a fourth process of distillation/purification.
