PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high purity stannous oxide in which the α-ray quantity of tin is reduced; to provide a powder of the same; and to provide a method for producing the stannous oxide.;SOLUTION: The high purity stannous oxide is characterized in that α-ray dose is ≤0.01 cph/cm2 and the purity except stannic oxide (SnO2) is ≥99.999%.
