PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a label assignment technique, capable of reducing determination of "no label" to a content while suppressing the calculation quantity.;SOLUTION: The label assignment device is adapted to assign, to a content having at least one of a character and an image, one or more labels showing a type of the content thereof. The device generates a score function using a characteristic vector and a binary classifier, generates an identification function having the score function and a threshold of determining the propriety of label assignment, and determines the propriety of label assignment based on an identification function value calculated by the identification function.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
