PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recognize with higher accuracy the contents of information written on a medium based on image data obtained by reading of the medium.;SOLUTION: A medium processing apparatus comprises an extracting part 14 for extracting a plurality of pieces of information from image data obtained by reading a medium 30 on which the plurality of pieces of information meeting a predetermined relationship are written in a plurality of areas; a recognizing part 15 for recognizing the contents of the plurality of pieces of information; and a decision part 18 which decides based on the predetermined relationship whether or not the contents of the plurality of pieces of information recognized by the recognizing part 15 are correct and which, if the contents are determined to be correct, determines the contents of the plurality of pieces of information to be the same as those recognized by the recognizing part 15; if they are determined not to be correct, corrects the contents recognized by the recognizing part 15, based on the predetermined relationship, to decide the contents of the plurality of pieces of information.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
