PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin plate-manufacturing apparatus and a thin plate-manufacturing method, which can control plate thickness by preventing the thickness irregularity of a thin plate from occurring, in the thin plate-manufacturing apparatus and the thin plate-manufacturing method for manufacturing the thin plate on a surface of a backing plate by immersing the backing plate in a material me and to provide a crucible.;SOLUTION: The thin plate-manufacturing apparatus manufactures the thin plate on the surface of the backing plate by immersing the backing plate into the material melt. The thin plate-manufacturing apparatus includes: the crucible, the inside of which can be filled with the material me and an immersing unit for immersing the backing plate in the material melt in the crucible.
