PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop and provide a method of manufacturing a dust collection filter using loofah fibers having good dust collection efficiency by applying various kinds of processing to dried loofah made of only fibers obtained from loofah after ripening as a cucurbit.;SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the dust collection filter includes: a step of forming a dried loofah (1) having a proper diameter (X) and a length (Y) into a cylindrical shape by removing a core of a central part supported by fibers; a step of immersing the dried loofah (1) formed into the cylindrical shape into warm water having a proper temperature, so that the water sufficiently spreads over a network structure having porosity with various shapes and a fine framework structure and the fibers are swollen; a step of taking up the loofah swollen by the immersion into the warm water from the warm water and holding it between two take-up plates (A, A) and pressing it with a proper pressure; a step of drying the held loofah as it is in a constant-temperature chamber having an inner temperature kept in a range of 60 to 70°C for about four hours; and a step of compressing the dried loofah originally having the cylindrical shape into a plate shape.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
