PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device for quickly and reliably cooling a steel pipe down to room temperature after warming a solid lubricant characterized by flowability in a warmed condition and solid at room temperature and applying it by spray onto the warmed joint part of the steel pipe.SOLUTION: The cooling deice 1 is provided for cooling the oil-well steel pipe 2 after applying by spray the solid lubricant, having flowability in a warmed condition and becoming solid at room temperature, as it remains warmed, to the warmed joint part 2a. The cooling device 1 includes a cooling nozzle 3 to be disposed inside the joint part 2a of the oil-well steel pipe 2 in the axial direction of the steel pipe for jetting liquid nitrogen.
