PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcing member of a vehicle body outer plate for an automobile, capable of attaining a weight reduction in components themselves and high surface rigidity enhancement effect of a vehicle body outer plate.;SOLUTION: The reinforcing member enhances the surface rigidity of a vehicle body outer plate for automobile by being bonded to the rear face side of the vehicle body outer plate for automobile with adhesives. The reinforcing member 1 is a beam-like member extending in such a direction as to run along the vehicle body outer plate for an automobile, for example, a door outer plate 3, and includes: a bonded surface section 7 having a predetermined width bonded to the door outer plate 3; a web surface section 9 bending and rising from one edge side of the bonded surface section 7; and a front end bending surface part 11 provided bending on the front end of the web surface part 9.
