PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EEG dipole tracing apparatus for analyzing/processing the position and the vector components of an intracerebral dipole at high speed in actual time corresponding to the EEG measurement.;SOLUTION: The EEG dipole tracing apparatus comprises a plurality of electrodes 2 for EEG measurement, a multi-channel EEG amplifier 4 for amplifying the measurement electric potential of each electrode 2, an A/D convertor 5 for converting the amplified electric potential to digital data, a file system 14 for storing data on the transmission matrix of the electric potential from previously constructed dipoles in the brain onto the scalp and data on the initial position of an arbitrary number of dipoles assumed in the brain, and an analysis processing means 6. The analysis processing means 6 performs the analysis process by the least square method using measured data on the electric potential and the data on the transmission matrix and initial position read from the file system 14 by means of parallel processes for each initial position performed by a plurality of subordinate calculators 8A, 8B, ... 8N, and determines the optimum position and vector components of the dipoles inside the brain with the minimum square error between the distribution of the electric potential generated by the dipoles assumed inside the brain and the measured distribution of the electric potential in the actual time.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
