PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a UCP-1 production promoter, a UCP-2 production promoter, a fat combustion promoter and a fat accumulation inhibitor having excellent actions, and having excellent safety properties, environmental properties and productivity.SOLUTION: The UCP-1 production promoter contains at least any one of 3-hydroxymethyl-7-methylocta-1,6-diene-3-ol, 3-methylene-7-methyl-6-octane-1,2-diol, α-E-acaridiol, and α-Z-acaridiol. The UCP-2 production promoter contains at least any one of 3-hydroxymethyl-7-methylocta-1,6-diene-3-ol, 3-methylene-7-methyl-6-octane-1,2-diol, α-E-acaridiol and α-Z-acaridiol. The fat combustion promoter contains at least either one of the UCP-1 production promoter and the UCP-2 production promoter. The fat accumulation inhibitor contains 3-methylene-7-methyl-6-octane-1,2-diol.
