PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road-vehicle communication system that provides high-accuracy vehicle position information by suppressing reduction in accuracy of specifying the position of a vehicle in an uplink area divided into a plurality of division areas.;SOLUTION: The road-vehicle communication system includes: a plurality of light reception parts provided in a light projection/reception device such that the light projection/reception device can receive up-link light for the plurality of division areas obtained by dividing the up-link area in a vehicle traveling direction; a decision part deciding whether or not each light reception part receives the up-link light based on a predetermined threshold value; and a position specification part specifying a transmission position of the up-link light of an in-vehicle unit based on a decision result of the decision part.
