PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sorted collection method of abandoned extra fine cables, and a drying apparatus, capable of securely and simply drying extra fine copper cables with a low-cost configuration irrespective of the magnitude of a process amount, and capable of suppressing an environmental load and energy consumption.SOLUTION: The sorted collection method of abandoned extra fine cables includes: a shearing step A for separating the abandoned extra fine cables into coating materials and extra fine copper cables L; a separation step B for separating the mixture of the coating materials and the extra fine copper cables L into the coating materials and the extra fine copper cables L, respectively; and a drying step C for drying the extra fine copper cable L. The drying step C of the extra fine copper cables L includes: a drying preparation step C1 for disentangling the extra fine copper cables L thrown into a trough 11 of a drying apparatus 10; a first drying step C2 for dehydrating the disentangled extra fine copper cables L using a vacuum apparatus 12; and a second drying step C3 for heating and drying the dehydrated extra fine copper cables L.
