PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary self-traveling endoscope system with excellent operability, capable of smoothly inserting an insertion part before being inserted to a part to be examined into the part to be examined. PSOLUTION: The rotary self-traveling endoscope system 1 comprises: an endoscope 2 provided with an insertion part comprising a distal end rigid part with an imaging means, a curved part, a thin and long insertion part body 10 and a rotary cylindrical body externally fitted to the insertion part body so as to be freely rotated, where a helical shape part is formed; a turning means 16 for turning the rotary cylindrical body to the insertion part body; an insertion part housing case body 12 for housing the insertion part; and an insertion assisting implement 11 capable of inserting the insertion part led out from the insertion part housing case body and freely inserting the distal end opening into the celom.
