摘要

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an internal combustion engine capable of improving reduction efficiency of soot generated by burning of fuel with simple and easy control and means. PSOLUTION: The method includes a procedure of burning the fuel containing carbon and irradiating the burning fuel with microwave in a plasma non-forming condition. With this, temperature of the soot in the burning fuel is raised, particle sizes of discharged soot primary particles are reduced, the crystallinity is improved and therefore an emission of the soot primary particles can be reduced.
