PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart leafing properties to a resin-coated metallic pigment so far unable to be given leafing properties and also impart leafing properties to a colored metallic pigment having a colored pigment attached thereto.;SOLUTION: There is provided a metallic pigment composition which has leafing properties and is prepared by mixing a resin-coated metallic pigment or a colored metallic pigment having a colored pigment attached thereto with a silane coupling agent, having a structural formula having a CF₃ group at the molecular end and/or a hydrolyzate thereof or their condensate.
