PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the upper end of a pipe material moved up in a building from abutting on a slab when constructing a vertical pipe by joining a plurality of pipe materials in series.;SOLUTION: When constructing a vertical pipe 50 by joining two or more pipe materials 1 in series in a building 51 with a plurality of stories, a guide member 10 is mounted on the upper end of the pipe material 1, the pipe material 1 is lifted up by a wire 3 (4) hung from an upper layer, and the lifted pipe material 1 is fixed to the building 51. Then, the guide member 10 is mounted on the upper end of a next pipe material 1, the next pipe material 1 is lifted up by the wire 3 (4) hung through the inside of the pipe material 1 fixed to the building 51, the upper end of the next pipe material 1 is joined to the lower end of the pipe material 1 fixed to the building 51, and the next pipe material 1 is fixed to the building 51.
