PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinal fixation titanium alloy rod, having a superior fatigue strength as compared with an existing Ti64 rod and a method for producing the same.;SOLUTION: The spinal fixation rod, having a fatigue strength more than 750 MPa and an elastic modulus less than 110 GPa is obtained by preparing a titanium alloy composed of: Nb content of 25 to 35 wt.%; Ta content of 36 to 45 wt.% by Nb content+0.8Ta; Zr content of 3 to 6 wt.%; and a balance including Ti and inevitable impurities, subjecting the titanium alloy to swaging processing of a reduction in area of 90% or more, and subjecting the titanium alloy to an ageing treatment.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
