METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PREDICTING SUDDEN LOCAL HEAVY RAIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for predicting sudden local heavy rain, which is capable of predicting heavy rain in a very narrow range approximating a pin point approximately in real time by a simple system.SOLUTION: The device for predicting sudden local heavy rain includes: a GPS receiver; propagation time calculating means which obtains the propagation time of GPS data from a time difference between the time of a GPS satellite and the time of a user's mobile terminal device; propagation delay amount calculation means which obtains a propagation delay amount from a difference between a reference propagation time of GPS data and a propagation time at the current time; GPS precipitable water temporal gradient calculation means which obtains the change in propagation delay amount per unit time; and heavy rain determination means which determines a risk of heavy rain at an observation point on the basis of a GPS precipitable water temporal gradient.
