PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new technique for bluing a specific site in a plant. PSOLUTION: It is found that bluing of a petal of a tulip can be achieved by identifying and isolating a bluing gene specifically expressing in the blue flower bottom part, and expressing the gene. Thus, a method for bluing a petal cell including expressing the bluing gene possessed by the tulip in a purple cell is provided. Furthermore, a method for bluing a petal cell including expressing the bluing gene and an artificially constructed ferritin repressor gene in the purple cell is provided.
