PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for measuring output characteristics of an air-fuel ratio detecting means for accurately determining a failure of an air-fuel ratio when the failure occurs only in some specific cylinders.;SOLUTION: There is disclosed the method for measuring the output characteristics of the air-fuel ratio detecting means 47 for detecting the air-fuel ratio of an air-fuel mixture in a combustion chamber 11 of a multicylinder engine 1 on the basis of concentration of oxygen in exhaust gas from the multicylinder engine 1. In the method, the air-fuel ratio is changed in the one specific cylinder of the engine 1 under a predetermined condition, and the output characteristics of the air-fuel ratio detecting means 47 in this case are measured.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
