PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold with an extremely small amount of warpage and excellent in evenness, a method for manufacturing the mold by which a highly precise uneven pattern with less fluctuation of the amount of warpage can be efficiently formed, and a magnetic recording medium.;SOLUTION: The mold has the uneven pattern on the surface, and at least two layers of electrocasting layer, wherein at least adjoining layers of the electrocasting layer have the same crystal orientation. An embodiment in which the electrocasting layer consists of Ni, and an embodiment in which at least adjoining two layers have the same crystal orientation making Ni (110) to be a preferential orientation, are preferable.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
